AssignPro from the Mac App Store.
This section explains how the Mac App Store edition of AssignPro handles information. The website and Direct Download services are described separately on this page.
The app uses the information you choose to import and the Jamf server you configure to carry out the work you request. Your organisation controls its Jamf environment and the permissions it grants.
Your Jamf connection and device lists.
AssignPro connects from your Mac to the Jamf server you configure. It uses the API client credentials you provide to authenticate, retrieve static groups, look up computers using your imported entries, and add or remove matched computers from the group you select. Preview performs lookups without changing group membership.
Those requests send the lookup entries and group-change instructions to your Jamf environment. Results may include computer names and IDs, group names and error details. Your organisation’s Jamf service and its own retention arrangements govern information held there. Clearing local activity does not erase Jamf records or reverse group changes.
Use only files, information and Jamf credentials you are authorised to use.
Information stored on your Mac.
AssignPro reads files you choose to import and uses their entries in your working session. Connection preferences, including remembered Jamf server addresses, are stored locally.
Saving API credentials in macOS Keychain is enabled by default. You can change that option and use the app’s clear-saved-credentials control to remove stored credentials. Turning off future saving does not itself delete credentials already saved.
The activity view may contain imported filenames and entries, computer names and IDs, group names, server addresses, timestamps and error details. You can clear this activity or export it to a file you choose. An exported file remains in that location until you remove it; a synced or backed-up location may also retain a copy. Review and redact logs before sharing them, as automatic masking of common secrets cannot guarantee that all personal or confidential information has been removed.
App Store purchases and support.
Apple handles Mac App Store purchases and subscriptions. AssignPro uses Apple’s StoreKit entitlement information, including transaction identity, subscription validity and expiry, to determine access. The Mac App Store edition does not require Direct Download activation through JesTech Licence Hub. Apple handles your Apple Account and payment details under its own privacy arrangements.
If you contact JesTech support, we receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. Please include only what is needed to explain the problem; do not send API secrets, passwords or complete device inventories. For questions or requests about information JesTech holds, email support@jestechsoftware.com. For information held by your employer or its Jamf environment, contact that organisation.
Local credentials remain in Keychain until removed, and exported files remain wherever you save them until you remove them. Apple and your organisation determine retention of information in their respective systems. JesTech handles support correspondence subject to applicable legal and operational retention requirements; you can ask us about, or request deletion of, information we hold at the support address above.
How long we keep support correspondence.
We review routine support conversations 12 months after the last message. When the issue is closed and there is no continuing reason to keep the conversation, we delete or anonymise it.
We review diagnostic files customers send us within 90 days after the support case closes and remove them when they are no longer needed. Please avoid sending passwords, API secrets or complete device inventories.
An open issue, complaint, security investigation, legal claim or required business record may need to be kept longer. We review those exceptions while the reason applies. You can contact support@jestechsoftware.com to ask about information we hold or request earlier deletion where applicable. Copies in provider backups follow their own recovery cycle.
