Script Studio Pro Documentation

Script Studio Pro is coming soon. This is preview documentation; details may change before release.

Script Studio Pro is a macOS workspace for enterprise script management. It helps Mac admins connect to a management server, review and edit scripts, understand linked policy impact, test script behaviour, and prepare safer deployment workflows.

The product is designed for administrators who need practical control without unnecessary friction. It brings script editing, policy visibility, local testing, runtime parameters, and Enterprise Simulation into one focused native app.

What Script Studio Pro Helps You Do

  • Connect to a compatible management server using OAuth client credentials.
  • Browse, search, create, edit, duplicate, rename, save, export, and delete scripts.
  • Preserve important script metadata when saving updates.
  • View policies linked to the selected script.
  • Create a policy for a script or link a script to an existing policy.
  • Prepare targeted deployment workflows using a configurable static computer group.
  • Test scripts in Script Runner before deployment.
  • Simulate management-style execution contexts, runtime parameters, protected filesystem writes, API calls, packages, profiles, network failures, and common enterprise failure states.
  • Use guidance output to understand what happened, what would differ in live deployment, and what an admin should check next.

Who It Is For

Script Studio Pro is intended for:

  • Mac admins responsible for Jamf Pro compatible script and policy workflows.
  • IT engineers who maintain production scripts.
  • Support teams that need safer script testing and clearer deployment evidence.
  • Admins who want policy visibility before editing or deleting shared scripts.

Documentation Sections

  • Setup Guides: install, first launch, API client setup, and connection steps.
  • Product Documentation: concepts, workspace tour, Script Runner, and Enterprise Simulation.
  • Admin Guides: security, permissions, governance, policy workflows, and deployment operations.
  • User Guides: day-to-day use for script editing, testing, saving, and exporting.
  • How-To Guides: short task-based procedures.
  • Troubleshooting: common issues and recovery steps.

Important Safety Note

Script Studio Pro can edit and delete live management server objects when connected with credentials that permit those actions. Review linked policies, use exports before large changes, and test scripts before deploying them to production devices.
