Enterprise Simulation

Script Studio Pro is coming soon. This is preview documentation; details may change before release.

Enterprise Simulation helps admins test management-style script behaviour without relying only on live production deployment.

It is designed for scripts that interact with policy context, runtime parameters, management binaries, package installs, protected paths, inventory updates, configuration profiles, network checks, and API calls.

What Enterprise Simulation Can Surface

Enterprise Simulation and Guidance can identify or explain:

  • Missing runtime parameters.
  • Possible command typos.
  • Package install assumptions.
  • API calls and inline credential risk.
  • Protected path writes.
  • Management binary actions.
  • Configuration profile actions.
  • User session impact.
  • Network or device state checks.
  • Recursive file removal.
  • External tool dependencies.
  • Runtime command-not-found errors.
  • Permission boundaries.
  • Missing console user state.
  • Missing identity state.
  • Virtualized protected path writes.
  • Privileged commands blocked for safety.

Simulation Scenarios

When Enterprise Simulation is selected, the runner can use scenarios such as:

  • Success.
  • Management Binary Missing.
  • Permission Denied.
  • Network Unavailable.
  • Connected Service Unavailable.
  • Policy Trigger Not Found.
  • Inventory Update Failed.
  • Management Framework Broken.
  • API Unauthorized.
  • API Forbidden.
  • API Timeout.
  • Package Install Failed.
  • Profile Install Failed.

Protected Path Virtualization

Protected writes can be redirected into a simulation filesystem instead of altering the Mac. This helps admins see what the script tried to do while reducing risk during testing.

Examples of protected paths include areas such as /Applications, /Library, /System, /Users/Shared, /opt, /private/var, /usr/local, and /var.

Guidance

Guidance turns raw execution and simulation signals into admin-facing explanations:

  • What happened.
  • Live expectation.
  • Evidence.
  • Admin action.

For some command typo detections, Guidance can offer a precise quick fix.

Limits

Enterprise Simulation is not a replacement for staged live testing. A successful simulation means the script did not hit a simulated fatal condition in that context. Real deployment can still differ because of actual files, package availability, device state, network routing, API permissions, certificates, proxy/VPN state, and user session conditions.
